Mini skips keep your business premises rubbish-free

Wayne Brown from Brown Brothers Skips points out some of the other advantages of hiring a mini skip and gives some valuable tips on how to manage the process.

Protect staff and customers

Having rubbish or unwanted goods lying around your premises not only looks messy and makes it harder to move around, it can also pose a very real safety hazard to employees, visitors and customers.

Hiring a mini skip will allow you to declutter your working environment, minimise the risk of injury to yourself and others, and prevent a build-up of material that could be a fire hazard.

Size matters

Mini skips come in a range of sizes to suit any premises, no matter how small. Depending on your needs, you may choose to hire a large mini skip and take your time over a couple of weeks to fill it, or hire a series of smaller mini skips and have them collected more regularly.

Save money and the environment

If you have a lot of rubbish to dispose of, it can be a wise investment to hire more than one mini skip at a time, says Wayne.

"It's more expensive to send a mixed load of rubbish to the tip, so it can save you money in the long run if you sort it into different loads, such as steel, paper, rubbish and so on first."

As an added advantage, he adds, you'll also be doing your bit for the environment by sorting out recyclables from general rubbish.

Mini skips for moving

Moving premises is an ideal time for your business to do a big clear-out, so consider hiring a mini skip well before you organise the removalist. This will give you time to decide what to discard and what to keep.

"If you find you need more than one mini skip, organising another is generally no problem," says Wayne

"Sometimes customers think they only have enough rubbish to fill one mini skip, but call us back on the same day to order more when they realise how much rubbish they really have."

Plan ahead when renovating

Even a simple office refurbishment can generate a lot of rubbish, says Wayne, who counts builders and home renovators as the core of his business.

"Clearing up the rubbish as the works progress means that you're not working in a constant mess," he says.

So don't put up with the mess in your office any longer – rent a mini skip today and prepare to clean up.
